Kefyalew Endale is an associate researcher with Young Lives Ethiopia. He received his BA and MSc degrees in Economics from Addis Ababa University in 2004 and 2007, respectively. He also studied and obtained MA and PhD degrees in Development Economics in 2012 and 2015 from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) in Tokyo, Japan.

He is an assistant professor of Economics in the Department of Economics at Addis Ababa University. He has also worked on several collaborative and independent research projects on various issues for the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the House of Federation, the Addis Ababa Environmental Protection Authority, and Green Development Commission, the International Labour Organization (ILO), the World Bank, Organization for Economic Co-operation Development (OECD), and International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE). His research experiences are mainly on micro-level development issues such as education, youth unemployment, food insecurity, and social protection.
