Biography

Chanie joined the Young Lives in 2012 as Administrative and Survey Officer, responsible for the smooth running of the overall Young Lives survey work in Ethiopia. Since then, he managed and coordinated three rounds of school surveys and the 4th and 5th rounds of the Household Survey.  Currently, he is working as project coordinator with responsibility for coordinating the overall survey work, supporting the data management process, coordinating the dissemination of the Young Lives findings, and providing support for delivery of outputs of the Ethiopian Young Lives team.

Before joining Young Lives, Chanie was a lecturer in the College of Business and Economics of Arba Minch University. He also served as Head Department of Accounting and Finance for three years and Dean of the College of Business and Economics for three years.

Chanie has an MA in Development Studies specialized in Regional and Local Development Studies and an MSc in Food Security Studies both from Addis Ababa University and a BA in Accounting  from Alemaya University.
