The Child Research and Practice Forum, (CRPF) was established in 2010 under the Ministry of Women Children and Youth, to promote work on child research, policy and practice. The CRPF organises monthly seminars, produces quarterly newsletters and annual summary publications to achieve its objectives. It has a mailing list of over 1000 members.

In 2023 various stakeholders suggested that the mandate and scope of the Forum should be expanded to include youth and women rather than only children. After several meetings, it was decided to hold a survey poll of members which was carried out in July 2023. The Survey endorsed this view so that the name of the Forum was changed in August 2023 into Children Youth and Women – Research and Practice Forum (CYW-RFP).

The CYW-RPF has been organised and managed by Young Lives over the past twelve years with funding from OAK foundation from 2010 until 2018, GAGE in 2019, UNICEF in 2020 and Young Lives from its inception to date. The CRPF is currently working with the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs, and technical support from UNICEF, Young Lives and other research projects and national and international NGOs.

The CYW-RPF produces quarterly newsletters and regularly produces papers on members' research.
